Congratulations to Kenny Moore of Fleet Management for being the recipient of our “Above and Beyond the Call of Duty” Award for the 2nd Quarter! He was recognized by our Marketing Department for doing an outstanding job of helping all night long with the recent Community “Bike Night” Event in June.

City representatives from Public Works and Human Resources joined in the fun at the “Summer Car Classic” Community Event at City Hall. They hosted a Job Information Booth showcasing the available opportunities with the City and had cookies on hand to pass out as well! The City Clerks Office continues to have discussions with the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, other city clerks and finance officers in South Dakota, and members of the South Dakota Municipal League on the possibility of municipal clerks combining with the finance officer's association.

The Box Elder Police Department is proud to announce the graduation of Officer John Miller from the South Dakota Police Academy today! Once again, the Finance Department completed another year of audits with no findings, making it four consecutive years of excellent audit reports. Additionally, the State Auditor has accepted the last four years of annual reports all arriving before the deadline and in precise order. Excellent job, Finance Team!

The Box Elder Police Department would like to welcome Officer Chase Randall to the agency! 

Chase is a former US Marine who came to the windy Dakotas from the Peach State of Georgia to be closer to his family who own and operate a local roofing company- Teamwork Exteriors.

Chase enjoys target shooting and all the hiking and camping he gets to do in the beautiful black hills. "It is great to be close to family and the hills and I am really looking forward to being able to serve the Box Elder community." said Officer Randall.

BEPD would like to remind everyone to be wary of whom you distribute your personal financial and identification info, especially to unsolicited callers. If the call seems odd, it probably isn't what it seems, hang up and keep a watchful eye on all your accounts.

The Box Elder Police Department would like to extend a note of gratitude to the students of Douglas High School for the donation of new stuffies for distribution to children in the community. A sincere and tender way of giving back to the youth of tomorrow. Thank you, DHS!
