Patrol Division

WHAT's New In Patrol Division:

The Box Elder Police Department would like to welcome Officer Jesse Brennen to the agency!

Jesse moved to Rapid City in September of last year from Colorado Springs, where he grew up. He has worked in corrections for the last six years and is excited to continue my law enforcement career as a Police Officer with the City of Box Elder.

Jesse has been enjoying exploring his new home in the Black Hills with his family; golfing, fishing and taking advantage of all the outdoor activities the area has to offer!

Welcome to Box Elder Officer Brennen, we look forward to your service with our community in the years to come!

The patrol division is comprised of two Sergeants and 11 Police Officers. They are responsible for responding to all calls for service within the City, 24 hours a day. The patrol division handles the initial response to all types of calls from quality of life concerns such as noise complaints to serious felonies, property crimes and crimes against persons. They patrol on a constant basis and conduct traffic enforcement across the City. The patrol division’s highway safety program includes 2 “speed trailers” to assist in correcting concerns with speeders, please click on the “speed trailer request” photo below.

The patrol division is also committed to community policing through positive contacts with businesses and residents even when no crime has been reported. They are more than willing to assist with safety talks on a variety of issues for civic and children’s groups, just click on the “Request For Service” button below.
