What's New in Human Resources

Each quarter staff nominates peers who go Above and Beyond the Call of Duty. Quarterly nominations are reviewed and excellence is recognized at our quarterly ABCD Award luncheon held at Box Elder City Hall. 1st quarter 2022 ABCD award recipients are: Chris Misselt & Justin Taylor (PD) and Forrest Legg (PW) for their outstanding service going above and beyond in their duties.

What's New in Human Resources

City of Box Elder employees celebrated St. Patrick’s day in style! This year’s “corned-beef-a-palooza” was made in house by our very own Doug Curry and Brent Hendrickson!

Employees got to enjoy ample amounts of Corned Beef, Cabbage and Tums! It was delicous...

Human Resources supports City employees by providing benefits, a competitive pay plan, employee development opportunities, employee orientation, employee activities, events, recognition and communications, conflict resolution, maintaining personnel data, recruitment and applicant tracking, a variety of internal and external training offerings, rules and regulations. Mia Kennelly

Director of Human Resources

As the Human Resources Director for the City of Box Elder, Mia is a
dedicated professional who has notable experience in strategic human
resource planning, staffing, employee benefits, employee contract
negotiations, compensation/payroll, training and development, performance
management, and management coaching. Mia holds a Bachelor's degree from
Black Hills State University and has over 8 years of Human resources
experience.  In addition, she is a member of the Society for Human Resource
Management (SHRM) and the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW). Originally from Aberdeen, SD she relocated to the area in 1997.
