WHAT's New In Patrol Division:

The Box Elder Police Department would like to welcome Officer Porter Wimp to the agency!
Porter was born and raised just a jump skip away from the box in Rapid City. He decided after graduating from Stevens High School to attend Western Dakota Technical College wherein he studied Criminal Justice with emphasis in Law Enforcement. Porter was excited to apply and accept a position with the BEPD after having graduated from WDT.
Porter enjoys baseball, time with his girlfriend and their two fur babies; Zeus and, Paisley.
Welcome to Box Elder Officer Wimp, we look forward to your service with our community in the years to come!
WHAT's New In the Police Department Investigations Division:

BEPD Investigations would like to introduce and welcome their new investigators, Investigator Michael Cristol and Investigator Noel Peterson.
Investigator Michael Cristol is in his 17th year of sworn law enforcement and comes to the box having served as a K9 Handler, Field Training Officer, Special Victims Unit Detective, Auto Theft Detective and Patrol Officer.
Michael is an advocate for community involvement as such, served for eight years as a Head Coach for his former community's High School Swim Team.
Michael and his family relocated to the Black Hills and took advantage of summer camping in the hills, are active with the Boy Scouts and just toured the iconic Iron Mountain Road over the weekend for the first time! Michael says his favorite aspect of the BEPD, and City of Box Elder is "The tight knit community here and, how the different aspects of city government work together as well as they do."
Investigator Noel Peterson is joined the BEPD by way of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and it a proud US Airforce and Law Enforcement Veteran. Noel and family have like many others who find themselves in the heart of South Dakota; fallen head over heels for the Black Hills and all the wonders therein. Trivial points that fellow officers of Noel have noted are his talents with an illustrator’s pen are impressive and, he is a Batman fan through and through!
