What's new in Community and Economic Development

 – By

This project aims to build a significant, state-of-the-art children's museum that will operate as the Black Hills Children’s Museum (BHCM) of South Dakota. With the nearest children’s museum being almost 382 miles away, it is challenging for young families to find the educational and recreational opportunities, which our museum will provide. This keystone attraction within the City of Box Elder, will add enthusiasm for further economic development and advance the quality of life for area residents. The BHCM aims to introduce children to concepts and skills that enhance their academic success, provoke imagination, and explore unknown worlds. It will feature a host of interactive attractions with themes unique to the Black Hills Region of South Dakota. With exhibits and programs featuring the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM), the BHCM will offer high-quality educational experiences designed to stimulate curiosity and learning in children of all ages.
If you are interested in sponsoring or donating to the museum, please contact Brent Hendrickson at 605-791-8132 or email at brent.hendrickson@boxelder.us
